Transcendental

Transcendental is made up of two separate drawings. The bottom is visually inspired by church schematics and incorporates a figure toward the top in an altar-piece-like arrangement. Compositionally, the lower drawing is heavier with fields of black and green tying it to earth. The top drawing is more airy and delicate on a blue field that is symbolic of the sky. An orange halo shape hovers over two bands of faceless figures like the one below. The placement of the blue drawing above the the other is meant to suggest transcendence, that there is a higher reality. This life is not all there is, and the reality below is a metaphor for our eternal home which we will receive when Christ descends from the clouds.
